What exactly is Google Bard?
Google’s experimental conversational AI chat service, Bard. It is intended to function similarly to ChatGPT, with the main difference being that Google’s service will obtain its data from the internet.
When did Google Bard become available?
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, announced Bard on February 6 in a statement. Despite the fact that Bard was a brand-new concept at the time of its unveiling, the AI chat service is powered by Google’s Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA), which was introduced two years ago.
How does Google Bard function?
LaMDA is based on Transformer, Google’s neural network architecture that it invented and publicly released in 2017. According to Google, GPT-3, the language model on which ChatGPT operates, was also built on Transformer.
According to the release, the initial version of Bard will use a lightweight model version of LaMDA because it requires less computing power and can be scaled to more users. In addition to LaMDA, Bard will use all available web information to provide responses. Pichai stated that utilizing the web would provide “fresh, high-quality responses.”
The use of LaMDA stands in stark contrast to the majority of AI chatbots currently in use, including ChatGPT and Bing Chat, which use an LLM in the GPT series.
Why is Google releasing Google Bard now?
